An incredible story unfolds as Amazing Hope makes her way south off the coast of California and Baja California, on her way to Mazatlán.
On a sunny Saturday morning from Newport Beach, CA on March 9, s/v Amazing Hope begins a 490-mile journey.
Last November, Amazing Grace Maritime Missions was donated a 32’ Bristol sailboat to serve in Mazatlan, Mexico. We have christened her the s/v Amazing Hope as she will bring the hope of Christ as we teach sailing to at risk youth in Mazatlan.
We know that m/v Amazing Grace will be the right vessel equipped to respond in disaster situations and deliver water, food, and volunteers.
While the people of Mazatlan were spared by Hurricane Willa, communities about 200 miles south go without power or water in the flooded towns of Teacapan & Escuinapa.
Worshiping at the shipyard and praying for provision and progress to complete the refit of 30 beds, a medical treatment room, new galley, appliances, engines, generators and a tender.

Just before we entered the Sea of Cortez, with the tip of Baja Peninsula to the north, sheltering us from the 5 foot seas at 5 second intervals expected for the crossing, our starboard engine quit again.
