Have you ever visited a shipyard?

Charlotte and I would like to invite you to Bay Ship & Yacht in Alameda to have a unique experience.  Across the estuary from Jack London Square in Oakland, the shipyard receives many vessels at their dry docks.  Our ship, Amazing Grace, will only be here until Tuesday 7/19/2016.  We welcome you to come and see what we are doing.  Currently, eleven ships are dry docked, two Coast Guard cutters, a Horn Blower Yacht, three large tug boats, a United States Geological Survey research vessel,  San Francisco Pilot vessel and a few more.  Do you ever wonder what a tug’s hull and propellers look like?  Here is your chance to see several different types of ships as well as the progress we are making on Amazing Grace.

The best time to visit is between 4:00pm and 8:00pm Monday through Thursday.  This weekend is also good between 2pm and 7pm.  We will give you a tour of our ship as well as walk you around the yard to see the other ships from the ground.  The shipyard will issue you a hard hat and safety glasses.  Please wear long pants and covered toe shoes.  When you enter the parking lot, you can drive up to the gate and notify the security guard that you are here to visit Amazing Grace to see the progress that the yard is making.  We’ll have a quick safety briefing and walk to Amazing Grace for a tour.  Then walk you through the shipyard and back to the main gates.

When you RSVP with us at 510-919-1363 or by email, we’ll send you a waiver form for each person to be signed.
